It was for the first time that actress Samvrutha Sunil appeared on mini screen. She has been a prominent face in movies till 2006 and now she has won the hearts of audience all over again with her simple and down-to-earth attitude on the show 'Nayika Nayakan'.
As the talent hunt show aired on Mazhavil Manorama is coming to an end, Samvrutha talks about her experience as a mentor to the contestants.
“The show Nayika Nayakan has turned to be an emotion for me now. As the grand finale was approaching, I felt as if I was going to loose something. As far as director Lal Jose and actor Kunchacko Boban (judges) are concerned, they are in the limelight but I am not.
I took a break from family affairs as I got an offer for 'Nayika Nayakan'. Now since this is going to be over, I will be heading back. In fact, this was a like a small vacation for me - coming to shoots every month and spending sometime with all the team,” she said.
Talented bunch
Ask about the contestants and the finalists, Samvrutha said, “Each 16 of them will be close to my heart. All of them are really talented and have the potential to build a solid career in film industry. The show will end but I will be a mentor to them whole life”.
Training ground
Samvrutha, who entered into the film industry with the 2004 movie 'Rasikan' by Lal Jose, dubs the show as an eye opener.
“Although I have acted in many movies, I never got a chance or experience what the participants got. The show was like a film school as everything what an actor or an actress needs was taught,” she said.
