The making video of mega budget movie Lucifer, starring super star Mohanlal and directed by actor Prithviraj, is winning applauds on social media. The filming of a mega scene which includes 5,000 junior artists is progressing in Thiruvananthapuram and the video of this has gone viral online.
More than a 100 cars are used in this scene, and thousands of junior artists would be joining in along with Mohanlal. It is reported that the filming of this mass scene alone would cost around Rs 2 crore. The crew has been filming this scene for the past 15 days. It is reportedly one of the most significant scenes in the movie, and director Prithviraj is putting in an incredible effort, source say.
Actor Nandu, who plays a major role in the movie, said in an interview that Prithviraj was an 'amazing director.' “On the first day of the filming, Mohanlal came to me and said Prithvi was doing an extraordinary job?" Nandu said.
He said that unlike other filmmakers who would constantly check the monitor to review the scenes, Prithviraj would go to the next scene as he was confident of his work. “He would remember all the shots. Most of the scenes would have 40-50 shots, and the lead actors and many junior artists would be featured in it.
After a scene, Prithvi would immediately go to the next one, and then associate director Vava would suggest reviewing that scene. However, Raju would say that the scene got over as all shots had been taken. Such is the confidence of Prithviraj,” says Nandu.
Nandu confirmed that the remuneration paid to all the junior artists would sum up to Rs 2 crore. He said around 500-1,000 junior artists were featured in most of the frames. “There were around 2,000 junior artists when we shot in Ernakulam. Some scenes would have up to 3,000-4,000 artists,” he said.
Lucifer, a political thriller, is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor. The main location is Thiruvananthapuram and it is slated to hit the screens as a Vishu release next year.
