Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's action entertainer Spadikam is an all-time blockbuster. His Aadu Thoma character is one which still lingers in the hearts of many.
Now, director Biju J Kattackal has announced his plans to make a sequel to the cult classic 'Spadikam.' The young film-maker also unveiled an official first-look poster.
The director shared that the movie will feature the story of Irumban Sunny as the son of Aadu Thoma. Irumban Sunny will be played by a young superstar and Sunny Leone too would play a lead role.
Soon, netizens took it up and started discussions. While some hailed the 'novel idea,' many criticised the director alleging that Biju J Kattackal was trying to destroy the cult status of the yesteryear flick helmed by Bhadran. Meanwhile, the writer and director of the evergreen movie, Bhadran, shared sarcastic post saying a sequel won't happen. “There can be only one Spadikam and that has happened already,” he wrote.
Further, he went on to add Mohanlal's epic dialogue from the movie that said, “Dear, the Rayban glass is all mine and dare you touch it.” (Mone, ith ente Rayban glass... athil enganum nee thottal).
Well, let's wait and watch if a sequel ever happens or if it was just a publicity stunt.
