Sunny Leone started her journey as an adult star, but today, she is identified as a respectable Bollywood star. The diva is now all set to give an insight into her life through the web series 'Karenjit Kaur – The untold story of Sunny Leone'. The web series will trace Sunny’s journey from the American adult film industry to Bollywood. The Canada-born Indian-American actress took to Twitter to share a teaser of her web series and wrote, “My life will soon be an open book! My journey from Karenjit Kaur to Sunny Leone premieres on July 16, 2018”.
Before you watch the web-series, here we take a look at her five aspects which gained our respect.
Making her own choice
Sunny Leone was studying to be a paediatric nurse before she could step into the adult film industry. She joined the latter at the age of 19 and became financially independent at a very young age. When she made the choice to get into pornography, she did.
Facing critics
Since a young age, the Canadian-Indian star was the apple of eye for many but also faced severe backlash from her community and family. “I don't have a sob story and I am who I am”, she said once in an interview. No matter how much people abused and mistreated her she has always taken hold of her life and don't care a bit on what others say.
The love of a lifetime
Sunny Leone married Daniel Weber in 2009 in a Sikh and Jewish ceremony. Be it any event, Daniel could be spotted by her side. In an interview, Sunny said, "In an Indian society, it is taboo to be in such a profession (adult films) but we love each other. I don't have to deal with the tag of being a porn star or my wife being one. I own the production company and we share the best relationship. We are friends, business partners and together 24×7."
Adopting a girl
On September 30, 2016, Sunny Leone and her husband applied for adoption on the web portal of CARA, the apex body for child adoption. After completing all the formalities, Sunny Leone was allowed to take the child from Latur in Maharashtra and much later in 2017, the couple were declared as the legal parents of the nearly two-year- old Nisha Kaur Weber. The same child was turned down by 11 parents. While adoptive parents are often very picky about child's physical appearance, skin colour as well as medical history, Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber were not interested in any of it.
Family comes first
“God’s Plan!! We planned and tried to have a family and after so many years our family is now complete with Asher Singh Weber, Noah Singh Weber and Nisha Kaur Weber. Our boys were born a few weeks ago but were alive in our hearts and eyes for many years. God planned something so special for us and gave us a large family. We are both the proud parents of three beautiful children. Surprise everyone!”, was how Sunny Leone announced on her social media page a year ago.
She surprised us when she adopted a girl and it was all the more surprising when she announced that she was a mother to two sons as well via surrogacy. Undoubtedly, for someone like Sunny Leone, family is the first priority.
