Piracy site releases 'Kaala' 2 minutes before first show

Kochi: Just two minutes before the commencement of the much-awaited theatrical show of Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala, the film appeared on piracy website 'Tamil Rockers', reports Manorama News. The movie was available for download at 5.28 am on the site before the first-day first show (FDFS) started.

According to the report, the movie was shared online via Tamil Rockers by an admin named as 'Red Eye'.

Last month, the anti-piracy division of Kerala Police had arrested five Tamil Nadu natives who were behind hosting the popular piracy websites Tamil Rockers and DVD Rockers. A team led by SP anti-piracy cell B K Prasanthan had arrested three persons from Viluppuram and two from Tirunelveli for uploading new Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films through their websites registered under multiple domains.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu police had also arrested several people for uploading films to the website.

The appearance of Kaala movie on the website is a tight slap on the face of the police department, who had claimed that the website is down.

In another incident, a person was arrested in Singapore on Wednesday for streaming about 40 minutes of the film on his Facebook. The person was watching a premiere organised by the production team, ahead of the release.

Kaala, one of the most awaited movies of the year, was released worldwide on Thursday.
