'Selfie is selfish!' says Yesudas after deleting one shot by fan

That legendary playback singer Yesudas loathes selfies is no big secret. This time it was a fan who got a dose of his displeasure for trying to click a selfie. The incident happened when Yesudas was leaving the hotel in Delhi to take part in the 65th National Film Awards ceremony.

When Yesudas was trying to plod through a swarm of media persons who approached him, the youngster tried really hard to include the singer in the frame and managed to click a selfie. However, this didn’t go down well with the legendary vocalist who immediately pushed away the youngster’s hand. A visibly annoyed Yesudas then asked the person who took the selfie to delete his picture. He then went on to take the phone from the youngster’s hand and deleted the picture himself. Before leaving, Yesudas didn’t forget to tell everyone, 'selfie is selfish'.

The youngster who took the selfie with the singer was seen standing with a dejected face.

Meanwhile, when a scribe tried to ask Yesudas about the recent controversy that rocked the National awards event, the singer gestured to the former to shut his mouth by keeping finger on his mouth. The  event hogged the headlines as a group of artistes boycotted it refusing to accept the award from the Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani.

Earlier, Yesudas too had signed a petition by the artistes stating that they wished to receive the award from the President himself or else they would boycott the event. But ironically he took part in the function along with filmmaker Jayaraj.

Later, Yesudas  said nobody had decided to boycott the function and that he had only signed the petition which stated that the awards be distributed by the President.
