Actress Mathu gets married to Tamil Nadu native

Mathu got married to Tamil Nadu native Anpalagan George.

After former actress Divya Unni's recent remarriage, it's now actress Mathu's that is hitting the headlines. The actress who had migrated to the US got married to Tamil Nadu native, Anpalagan George.

Mathu, who got divorced from Dr. Jacob four years ago, has two kids studying in eighth and sixth grades respectively.

Mathu had bid adieu to films a while ago. She has been living in an apartment in New York and conducting dance classes.

Mathu or Madhavi stepped into filmdom through a Kannada film, Sannadi Appanna, released in 1977. She made an emphatic presence in almost all the south Indian languages for the next 20 years.

Sanadi Appanna had won her Karnataka State Government’s best child actor award. However, she continued as a child actor in Rajanikanth movies Bhairavi and Neeya. She did Kovil Mani Osai after a gap of 10 years. She did two more Tamil movies before she did Pooram in Malayalam.

However, in the middle of an illuistrious career in film she got maried to Dr. Jacob and then moved to the USA. She was in news sometime ago, when she had converted to Christianity and adopted the name Meena.

Mathu had made a strong presence in Malayalam films in the 1980s and 90s donning both lead as well as supportive roles.

Amaram, Sandhesam, Sadayam, Savidham, Ekalavyan, Napoleon were some of the major films in which she appeared in prominent roles.
