Even as reports spread about the possibility of the questioning of a young actress close to Dileep, arrested in connection with the abduction and sexual assault on an actress, there were rumors that huge sums were transferred from Dileep's proxy account to the account of an actress. It was rumored on the social media that the actress in question was Namitha Pramod. Meanwhile, the actress herself posted her reaction on the Facebook rubbishing the reports.
In her post, she denied having any account that ever came under investigation and that those spreading rumors should consider the undue mental agony it causes to the victim of such slander.
Namitha wrote on Facebook:
'It is not new for women who work in films to become victims of gossips. Many women working in the public domain had to face such attacks from those with vicious minds in the society. Usually they are ignored with due disdain. This note is being posted since some news is breaking breaching all set boundaries.
I am currently acting in the Tamil remake of Maheshinte Prathikaram. The shooting is going on in Thenkassi. I have no account that comes under the purview of investigation. Not just banks, anywhere. I wish those who create news out of their imagination had known the mental strain of those who are victims of such news'
