Thrissur: Artist Abul Hisham, a native of Ramavarmapuram in Thrissur, has been bestowed with unique international recognition for his works.
He has been selected for the prestigious Amsterdam Rights Academy Residency Programme. It was after 25 years that an artist from India was selected for the programme.
He will get a unique opportunity to learn and practise art work, while residing along with a team of internationally-renowned painters and sculptors.
The Netherlands Government will fund his expenditure that amounts to Rs.35 lakh. Annually, 20 persons are selected for this programme.
Seven works sketched by Hisham currently form part of the Kochi Biennale 's `Lokame Tharavadu' exhibition. He did his BFA from Thrissur Fine Arts College in 2010. He took Master's Degree in Painting from Hyderabad's S.N.School of Fine Arts and Communication in 2012. Till 2018, he pursued his career in Hyderabad.
