A photographic narrative titled 'Paka', which vividly portrayed a tale of deceit, was recently exhibited at the PVR Cinemas (Lulu), Ernakulam. The unique depiction, directed by cinematographer Roshan Varghese, narrated the heroics of Kerala’s favorite warrior leader Sankara Varma and how he was murdered by the enemies through trickery.
Adding an element of myth, the 13-minute narrative photographic film, beautifully captures in frames the re-birth of Sankara Varma and the revenge on his murderers. More than 89 still photographs were used to narrate the plot.
About 40 actors have essayed various roles in the film while many talented technicians contributed to make this film unique and appealing. The makers of 'Paka' have amazingly utilized the scope of motion graphics and sound engineering to create a mesmerizing piece of art.
Charujith essays the role of Sankara Varma while Vimal Kumar plays Kelu. Dhanajayan, Arjun Raj, G Unnikrishnan Nair and Harikesh too play pivotal roles in 'Paka'. The background music is by Dr Avinash. The editing and graphics, which is a significant feature in the film, is done by Avinash Thomas.
