Kerala police Cyberdome wins laurels in cyber security

The state police chief Loknath Behera announced that the force has won the ISLA Asia-Pacific 2018 Award, Skotch Award 2018 and FICCI Smart Policing Awards 2018.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police Cyberdome, which seeks to enhance coordination among multiple agencies in aiding probe involving online tools, has won a few laurels for its effective use of latest technologies in cyber security.

The state police chief Loknath Behera announced that the force has won the ISLA Asia-Pacific 2018 Award, Skotch Award 2018 and FICCI Smart Policing Awards 2018.

Cyberdome was selected for the ISLA honour at its 12th annual meet. The SKOCH Order-of-Merit was conferred during the SKOCH Summit in New Delhi. The FICCI SMART Policing Award in the category of cyber security was handed over to the Kerala Police during the Homeland Security 2018 conference held on May 31 in New Delhi.

Cyberdome was launched by the Kerala government for effective policing using internet technologies in the light of rising number of cyber crimes. It is reportedly the only law enforcement organisation that has the coveted ISO-27001 certification for Information Security Management.

The hi-tech centre, which is based at the Technopark campus in Thiruvananthapuram, started functioning early in 2016. Cyberdome avails the services of several ethical hackers and cyber security experts. It works on a public-private partnership model and is looked after by a deputy superintendent of police and a circle inspector.
