Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Mayor Arya Rajendran is set to tie the knot with Balussery MLA K M Sachin Dev.
While Sachin Dev is the youngest MLA in 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly, Arya is the youngest Mayor in the country.
"We discussed it among ourselves first before announcing it to our parents and the party. Both of them hold equal weight in our eyes," Arya said.
Sachin's father MK Nandakumar has confirmed the marriage alliance.
Though the date of the wedding has not been officially announced, it is expected to occur soon after the CPM State Committee meeting.
The details of the wedding including the date is yet to be chalked out, the MLA responded.
The duo has been acquainted with each other since they worked for Bala Sangham, Kerala's largest children's organisation.
Sachin Dev is the State Secretary of Students' Federation of India and and the All India Joint Secretary of SFI. He completed his degree in English at Government Arts and Science College, Kozhikode and LLB at Government Law College, Kozhikode. He was the former chairman of the Government Arts and Science College, Kozhikode.
Arya Rajendran is also the state president of Bala Sangham. She is a state committee member of SFI and area committee member of CPI(M) at Chala.
Arya was elected from Mudavanmukal ward from Nemom Assembly Constituency at the age of 21 and was appointed as the mayor of the corporation making her the youngest mayor in the country.
