Kochi: Luminis School of Medical Scribing has tied up with the US-based Office Genie Solutions to offer live scribing facility for students. It gives students the chance to work as documentation assistants with US doctors while receiving training in medical scribing, the promoters told a media conference at Ernakulam Press Club recently.

The initiative comes at a time when medical scribing, which involves documenting communication between doctors and patients to prepare medical reports, has gained popularity among Kerala students. Through this programme, students will train with doctors across nine specialties namely neuropathy, general medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, gynecology, family medicine, internal medicine, dermatology, and radiology at various American hospitals. As part of the course, a three-month internship programme will be provided.

Prashant Krishna, managing partner of Office Genie Solutions, said that students obtaining the Live Doctor Training Certificate will enhance their job prospects in the field by gaining practical experience during their studies. Luminis CEO Akhil M S highlighted that the company, operating since 2017, has placed over 600 students in medical scribing roles over six years.
