New Delhi: Now you can pursue Post Graduation course in the subject of your choice, regardless of what your degree is. You only need to qualify for that subject in the National Entrance Test.

The suggestions in this regard are included in the draft of the new norms prepared by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for PG studies. As per them, the students will also be allowed to do online courses and two PG programmes at the same time.

There are also options for doing two offline courses, one offline and one online–distance education programme in combination. After the first year of two years of PG, you can have a PG diploma and discontinue your studies if you want. After a four-year degree, a one-year PG programme needed to be pursued.

The five-year integrated PG will continue. It is also suggested that more credit should be made available for research and training, including internships during the study.

The new proposals are in line with the National Education Policy. Suggestions on the draft norms can be submitted by December 15 on the UGC website. The final criteria will be published after this. To give suggestions, visit: suggestions.pgframeworks@gmail.com
