The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced recruitment to 2000 vacancies of probationary officers (POs) and the last date to apply is September 27.
Eligibility
Graduation by December 31, 2023 is the basic qualification to apply. Final year students and those who have degrees in Medicine / Engineering / Chartered Accountancy / Cost Accountancy can also submit applications.
However, candidates belonging to the general category who had appeared in the exam four times earlier need not apply. The maximum number of attempts for candidates belonging to OBC and differently-abled categories is seven. However, applicants from Scheduled categories have no limit on attempts.
Age limit
Applicants should be aged 21-30 years as on April 1, 2023. Those belonging to eligible categories will receive relaxation under the relevant rules.
Salary scale
Those selected as POs will receive a salary in the scale of Rs 36,000-63,840.
Selection process
There are two exams for selection – a preliminary and main.
The Preliminary exam comprises 100 objective-type questions from English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning which have to be answered in an hour.
The Main exam will have objective-type questions for 200 marks and descriptive questions for 50 marks.
A group exercise for 20 marks and an interview for 30 marks will follow the Main exam.
Exam centres
The centres for the Preliminary exam in Kerala are Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kochi, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.
For the Main exam, the centres in the state are Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
Fees
Application fee is Rs 750. However, there is no fee for candidates belonging to Scheduled and differently-abled categories.
