The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) at the De Paul Institute of Science and Technology (DiST), Angamaly, organised an induction programme for first-year students.
Angamaly DiST, which is one of the 425 centres collaborating with the IEDC, organises the induction programme every year for first-year students so that they can attain awareness regarding the opportunities provided by IEDC and come up with innovative ideas.
In all 550 students participated in the programme held last month, thus familiarising themselves with the activities of IEDC and how it helps student entrepreneurs and innovators sharpen their entrepreneurial skill sets and transform them into technically competent and skilled entrepreneurs.
Principal Fr Dr Johny Chacko Mangalath presided over the programme. Vice-Principal Fr Mathew Malieckal also attended the event; the resource persons were Bergin S Russell (Assistant Manager, Kerala Startup Mission) and Prof S Sarju (co-founder of Slate 'N' Pencil and senior faculty at St Joseph's College of Engineering and Technology, Pala).
The programme was organised by the IEDC nodal officer and assistant professor Dr Rakhi Radhakrishnan from the School of English, DiST.
IEDC is an initiative of the Kerala StartUp Mission to promote innovation and develop young entrepreneurs in Kerala. It was established at the DePaul Institute of Science and Technology in 2021. IEDC DiST organises various workshops, induction programmes, seminars, i-talks, hackathons, etc. every year to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
