The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) has invited applications for its two full-time post-graduate diploma programmes. The last date for application is September 6.

The programmes are PG Diploma in Management-Rural Management (PGDM-RM) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Rural Development (PGDRDM).

PGDM-RM

The two-year course has been approved by the AICTE. Applicants should have completed an undergraduate degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks. Those eligible for seat reservation will be given an exemption of 5 percent in the cut-off marks. Final-year students who will qualify for higher studies by September 6 too will be considered. Candidates are required to furnish their score in CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA/GMAT. Those selected in the preliminary round will be invited for a group discussion and interview before the final selection. 

PGDRDM

This is a one-year course. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks, while those eligible for seat reservation will be given an exemption of 5 percent in the cut-off marks. Final-year students who will qualify for higher studies by September 6 too will be considered. Candidates who perform well in the preliminary round will be invited for a group discussion and interview before the final selection.

Students for both the courses are required to stay on the campus in Hyderabad.

Fee, scholarship

The application fee is Rs 400; it is only Rs 200 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Tribe, differently abled, and economically backward categories.

The annual course fee is Rs 2,10,000, while the annual hostel expenditure is Rs 1,10,000. The candidates are required deposit an additional fund of Rs 10,000 along with the first trimester fee.

Based on the performance in the trimester examination, the students will be awarded scholarships. Students who earn the qualification will be offered support for finding employment. The reservation norms as stipulated by the central government norms will be applicable.

NIRD is an autonomous institution that functions directly under the Union Ministry of Rural Development. It facilitates research, training and consultancy to promote rural development.
