Ernakulam: Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Kochi, conducted its inauguration of the academic activities of the year 2023-24. The function was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police K Sethuraman on Wednesday.

In his inaugural address, Sethuraman urged teachers to introspect for their own good as well as to better serve students.

"There will be students who are more talented than teachers. Similar to an Olympic athlete competing against one's coach, the latter might not always come out on top. This analogy holds true for educators as well; they should evolve into coaches and should embrace limitations and mistakes and nurture self-confidence within themselves and their students," said IG K Sethuraman.

The students and teachers behind the production of the short film 'Inaippu' which earned a coveted World Health Organization (WHO) selection for its film festival were also honoured during the event.

The event was enriched by a series of cultural performances. Attendees, including parents and students, were presented with saplings as tokens of appreciation.

The General Secretary of Mata Amritanandamayi Math Swami Purnamritananda Puri, Principal Prof Rajeev Prasad and Dean Dr U Krishnakumar were also present at the meeting.
