New Delhi: With the number of Keralite students seeking higher education in Canada increasing every year, the High Commission of Canada in India will consider opening a visa application centre in the State, said an official.
At present, residents of Kerala travel to Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad to complete Canadian visa formalities.
The factors to be considered for opening a visa application centre include the number of visa applicants from the state in previous years and in the current year, stated media officer at the High Commission Archana Mirajkar.
The official was responding to a question on whether there was any plan to open a visa centre in Kerala as a large number of students from the state travel to Canada for studies.
“Biometric details and fees need to be submitted only once in 10 years. The other details could be uploaded online. Passports could be sent by courier,” she explained.
