New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be introducing a revised syllabus for Classes 6 to 8 in the coming academic year in order to familiarise students with new technologies and skill development.
Under the new syllabus, 33 additional subjects are being introduced, including artificial intelligence (AI) and coding. Other notable topics being added to the syllabus are data science, augmented reality, financial literacy, and satellite applications.
Till now, students were given training in skill development in Class 9. These topics have now been extended to Classes 6 to 8. Students would be given training in each of the new subjects for 12–15 hours. The ratio of theory and practical classes would be 70:30.
CBSE has also partnered with global tech firm Microsoft for training in coding and artificial intelligence.
