Apply for MBA in Insurance at Jodhpur Law University by June 5

The School of Insurance started in 2002 under the National Law University, Jodhpur, offers a top-class management programme in Insurance. The curriculum of this programme is constantly updated covering the latest developments in life/general insurance sectors.

The programme deals with diverse subjects such as risk management, underwriting, reinsurance, aviation insurance, actuarial/legal factors, insurance regulations and finance/marketing management. This MBA programme has the accreditation of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA) and stay on the campus is mandatory.

There is good placement record for this course and several students have received executive-level postings in the corporate sector.

Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline can apply, but they should have scored at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in Classes 10 and 12 and the degree course. Candidates belonging to reservation categories need a minimum of 45% marks. This programme is ideal for BTech graduates. Final-year degree students also can apply, subject to some conditions.

Admission process

There are a total 40 seats, of which 15% are reserved for Scheduled Caste and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Applicants should have obtained the following scores in any one of these three management tests:

• CAT: 45th percentile

• MAT: A total score of 140

• CMAT: A composite score of 300.

The rank will be decided by giving 50% weightage to marks obtained for degree and 50% for the management test. The pre-final marks will be considered for final-year students. The method of converting the scores in the management tests to weightage percentage is given in the information brochure.

Things to note

Application form should be downloaded from the website www.insuranceschoolnlu.ac.in, filled up and sent to the university along with a fee of Rs 2,000 so as to reach by June 5. The amount could be submitted online on the site www.nlujodhpur.ac.in/fee.php and receipt attached to the application form.

The payment can also be as a demand draft in favour of the Registrar, National Law University, Jodhpur. The rank-list will be published on June 15 and classes are scheduled to start on July 1.

The total course fee is around Rs 5 lakh. There would be additional expenses for accommodation. More details are given on the website.
