Kochi: The High Court of Kerala has clarified that in order to continue the affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), unaided schools will have to obtain no objection certificate from the Education Department only if the CBSE demands it.
Justice Devan Ramachandran was considering a petition filed by the manager of the Village International School, Thodupuzha, and the Council of CBSE Schools Kerala against the government order stipulating that to continue the affiliation after five years, schools must obtain its no objection certificate.
The petition was against the government order that was issued on November 9, 2022, stating that in order to continue the affiliation after five years, a no objection certificate would be required and that Rs 10,000 would be charged for this.
Since the schools needed to produce this certificate only if the CBSE demanded, the High Court declined to allow the demand by the petitioners to quash the government order.
