Online applications have been invited for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery (NEET-MDS 2023). The deadline to apply is 11.55 pm on January 30, 2023. The computer-based NEET-MDS will be held on March 1. The results will be announced on March 31.
The admission to all the MDS seats, except for AIIMS, New Delhi, will be based on the ranks secured in this test. This exam also serves as the screening test for the Army Dental Corps Short Service Commission.
The application fee is Rs 4,250. Applicants from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories and Persons with Disabilities need to remit only Rs 3,250.
One candidate can submit only a single application. If required, the candidates can edit the submitted application forms from February 2 to 5. The registered dental graduates can download the admission card from January 22.
Eligibility
Those who can complete the internship by March 31, 2023, after qualifying for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) exam can submit applications. Candidates belonging to the General category must secure at least 50th percentile to qualify.
Test pattern
The entrance test, which lasts three hours, will comprise 240 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) from the 17 subjects covered under the BDS syllabus approved by the Indian Dental Council. A candidate will get four marks for every right answer, while one mark will be deducted for each wrong one.
Test centres
The 76 test centres include Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Coimbatore, Bangaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi.
The entrance test is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (www.nbe.edu.in/ www.natboard.edu.in). The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, will conduct the admission counselling. Further details can be found on the website.
Fellowship Entrance Test
The National Board of Examination will conduct the next Fellowship Entrance Test (FET) on February 10. The online application can be submitted till 11.55 pm on January 27. Fellowship will be extended in 29 specialties, including Arthroplasty, Paediatric Nephrology, and Spine Surgery.
