Kochi: A CUSAT student is among two Malayalis chosen for the prestigious Quad Fellowship.
Anagha P, an MSc Hydrochemistry student of the Department of Chemical Oceanography, School of Marine Sciences, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), is among the 100 students selected to pursue masters and doctoral degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in the US.
Quad, an abbreviation of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, is a diplomatic network of Australia, India, Japan and the US, which offers an annual programme.
Of the 100 students, 25 are from India. Besides, Anagha, Tarunya Menon is the second Malayali in the batch. Tarunya has been pursuing her MS in Biotechnology, said quadfellowship.org.
A CUSAT release said that each Quad Fellows will receive a one-time award of $50,000. The fellowship, the CUSAT release said, aims at building a network of science and technology experts who are committed to bolstering innovation and collaboration in the public, business, and academic spheres.
