Kottayam: The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kottayam, established in 2015, will hold its fourth convocation on Saturday.
The institution, a centrally funded technical institute under the administrative control of the Central Ministry of Education, will have the renowned scientist and 'Missile Woman' Dr Tessy Thomas as the chief guest of the occasion.
Dr Tessy is the Director General (Aeronautical Systems) of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and has played a key role in developing indigenous missile systems.
The function is scheduled to start at 11.30 am, and it will be presided over by IIIT Kottayam's Director Dr Rajiv V Dharaskar.
Sixteen students of the 2018 batch will be awarded the Degree of B.Tech Hon’s and another 71 students the Degree of B.Tech in computer science and engineering. The certificates of distinction will be awarded to graduates who holds CGPA of 9.0 and above. The institution had earlier announced that 67 students from the college got 212 job offers this year, and the highest salary offered was Rs 42 lakh per annum. The mean salary package is Rs 10.45 lakh per annum, according to a statement from the institute.
