New Delhi: Keralites constitute just 1% of those who have been admitted to the different Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) this year. Rajasthan topped the list of IIT admissions with 2,184 students.

A total of 2,803 Keralite candidates had applied for the Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced or (JEE Advanced) for IIT admissions. Of these, only 6.4% made the grade.
A total of 13,801 candidates appeared for the JEE Advanced and 15.82% of them crossed the hurdle. Notably, 13.1% of the candidates are natives of Rajasthan. From Telangana, 17,891 candidates took the test, with 1,644 emerging as winners.
A total of 14,364 aspirants wrote the examination from Andhra Pradesh and 1,428 of them bagged admissions. In Tamil Nadu, 4,852 candidates faced the test with 436 of them gaining admission.
The statistics was revealed by Subhashis Chaudhary, Director of the IIT, Bombay, which conducted the JEE Advanced 2022.
