Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Skill Accreditation Platform (K-SAP) is all set to be launched from Saturday.
The K-SAP is being launched with the objectives such as upgrading the courses of public and private agencies that provide skill training to national standards. The other objectives include upgrading the training to meet the industrial requirements, and for revising the curriculum.
Through the project, which will start from October 1, the aim is to improve the vocational courses conducted by various agencies to national standards. The K-SAP is also a mechanism that allows institutes, imparting skill training, to secure the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) accreditation.
The ASAP Kerala had been selected as the assessment agency and also the awarding body of the National Council for Vocational and Educational Training (NCVET).
The ASAP will execute the task of upgrading the skill training courses in Kerala to the NSQF (National Skills Qualifications Framework) standards. As a part of the accreditation, exams will be conducted through ASAP and also certificates will be issued for the courses
