New Delhi: Authorities of several affiliated schools have apprised the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) that several papers of class 10 (ICSE) and class 12 (ISE) first-term exams were found extremely difficult by students.

Students and teachers say that the class 12 Physics and Computer Science exams and class 10 Geography and Physics exams were extremely hard.

Posing more trouble to students, multiple-choice questions were different from the model question papers. Many questions were time-consuming and out of the syllabus.

The issue was raised at the meeting of the Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate. Various schools had written to the board following this. They appealed to make valuation lenient so that students end up scoring poor marks.

The Council hasn’t taken a decision on how to address the matter though many students and teachers from affiliated schools across the country complained.

Many schools reportedly could not complete the portions on time owing to the delays and shutdowns owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, it was reported that some papers of the first-term exams were found unusually difficult by class 10 and class 12 students of the Central Board of Secondary Education.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Examination for Class 10 and Class 12, respectively.
