Kozhikode: St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri, has inked a pact with the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) to launch ACCA-Integrated Degree Programs.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard was signed by Dr Sabu K Thomas, Principal of St Joseph’s College, and Venugopal V Menon, the ISDC Director for Kerala Growth Projects.
In association with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), ISDC will assist students at St Joseph’s College to acquire ACCA qualification while pursuing a B.Com Finance, B.Com Computer Application or B.Com professional degree.
“With regular and vigorous training activities and webinars organised, this association will ensure that the students build a comprehensive knowledge of industry-oriented skills, strategies and management at a global level,” stated Shone Babu, the Head of Partnerships at the ISDC.
"The MoU with ISDC is not just for the enhancement of the students' learning experience, but it will also help the faculty to upgrade themselves through several Faculty Development Programme (FDP) that will be organised during the tenure of the MoU," said Principal Dr Sabu K Thomas.
St Joseph College, established in 1956, is affiliated to the University of Calicut. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) had accredited the College with A-Grade in 2004, and the institution was re-accredited with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.63 on a four-point scale in 2011.
The institution was recognised as a "College with Potential for Excellence" by the University Grants Commission in 2010 and was conferred autonomy in 2014.
In 2016, the college was re-accredited by the NAAC as the first college to be awarded with A++ grade in India with a CGPA of 3.76 on a four-point scale.
