The college, which found a spot in this year’s list of 100 best colleges in the country, will run the course in the brand new educational theatre that would be inaugurated soon. The course is jointly handled by the Jayaraj Institute of Film and Communication (JFC) owned by award winning film maker Jayaraj and CMS College.
The educational theatre that boasts of most modern visual and acoustic technology has been included in the 100 day action plan of the state government. The course would be transferred to the CMS campus as soon as the theatre is inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. There are 86 seats up for grabs in this course. However, up to 40 students would be admitted in the first batch.
Besides an ultra HD projector, there would be a 2000 watts RMS sound system in the theatre. Facilities for conducting online classes too have been arranged. Live video streaming, constructive debates between students and teachers and video conferencing too would be part of the curriculum. The theatre would also be used for courses or papers in cinema, documentary and drama.

“The institute aims to provide education of international quality. The coming generations should perceive cinema more seriously. Cinema experts and technicians from around the world would train the students. CMS College excels in many fields and areas of study. The college has even won international honors for its commitment to environmental conservation. There is no better campus than CMS to study about cinema,” said filmmaker Jayaraj.
