Thiruvananthapuram: The first allotment list for admission to first-year or Plus-One higher secondary and vocational high-secondary (VHS) courses in Kerala has been published.
Admission has been granted for 2,18,418 out of the total 2,71,136 seats available across the state.
The allotment to the remaining 52,718 seats are pending.
Meanwhile, General Education Minister V Sivankutty said that the state government will ensure sufficient seats for all students who are eligible for higher studies.
The minister also said that the government was considering increasing the number of seats in the unaided schools under the general education department.
The admissions to the higher secondary and vocational high-secondary schools in the state has begun on Thursday (Sept 23). The eligible candidates need to appear as per the time allotted to them in the allotment letter.
The allotment list was published after 3pm on Wednesday even though it was announced that would be published in the morning. Technical glitches on the website led to the delay of a few hours.
Those who have received the first option as per the first allotment should remit their fee and seek permanent admission. Those in the other options should obtain provisional admission without depositing the fee.
The break-up
Total applicants for the higher secondary course are 4,65,219. In the general category, admissions have been granted for 1,31,782 seats. The remaining seats are reserved for different categories.
Of the 33,000 VHS seats allotment has been made to 25,600. The total applicants were 51,000.
Last date
The vocational high-secondary and higher secondary admissions will end on September 29 and October 1, respectively. The details of admission are available on the website, www.admission.dge.kerala.gov.in
