This year's ethnic day showcased different forms of dance from different parts of the world.

The students of Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru, came in their ethnic attire to celebrate the diverse cultures of the world. The occasion was the Ethnic Day in the college where students from various parts of India as well as abroad study.

The fashion show held on the occasion exhibited the ethnic wear of the students from different regions of the world.

The dances included a South African one marked with various front and back flips apart from a few from Nepal, Tibet, Mizoram, Punjab, Gujarat and Kerala.

The event began with the college choir singing Michael Jackson's "Heal the world" and "Kuttandan Punchayile", a boat race or "vanchipattu" popular in Kerala.

A folksong called "Rasayayayo" was beautifully sung by Jeysi, a third-year BA student.

The fashion show was followed by a fantastic flash mob where a group of students from different departments danced to the tunes of Folk, Punjabi, Western, and Malayalam songs.

The programme ended with a spectacular chenda melam, with all the students getting down to the quadrangle and dancing the day off.
