Huawei’s mobile phone sub-brand Honor has always been about packing power in eye-catching form, without burning holes in our pockets. The latest one from the Honor cupboard is Honor 8 Pro and it comes with 6 GB RAM.

Launched in July, the 5.7-inch phablet is priced at Rs 29,999 and is giving a tough competition to the recently launched OnePlus 5. Here's a quick look at the specifications of Honor 8 Pro.

Highlights

The phone is powered by a massive 4,000 mAh battery but remains remarkably slim. The phone features QHD display with a pixel density of 515 PPI (pixel per inch).

Unlike Honor 8, the pro version comes with an all new design and has rounded edges. It sports a 5.7-inch display with QHD resolution (1,440x2,560 pixels). The phone has Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The Honor 8 Pro sports USB type-C charging port, a microphone, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone has an IR emitter, which is useful for controlling home appliances such as TV and air conditioner. This feature is useful, yet rarely seen in smartphones.

At the rear, the smartphone features dual primary cameras of 12MP each. It lacks a telephoto lens like the one seen on OnePlus 5. The cameras are capable of capturing videos in 4K resolution and supports 1,080p at 60fps.

In addition to this, there is an 8MP shooter at the front as well. The phone boards feature like fingerprint gestures and ‘Eye Comfort’ night mode.

Honor 8 Pro is powered by the company’s own top-of-the-line SoC Kirin 960 and a 1.8GHz octa-core processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. The phone runs on Huawei’s own EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat).

The smartphone comes with 128GB/64GB of internal storage, which is further expandable. The hybrid slots of the dual SIM phone support either two nano-SIMs or one SIM + microSD card.
