Dubai: Airport authorities and airlines have warned passengers of possible delays, cancellations or diversions of flights due to inclement weather in the UAE. Those flying out of the Dubai Airport (DXB) and the Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) are advised to check whether their flights are on time and take measures to evade possible traffic congestion. The passengers are also advised to arrive at the airports earlier than usual to get the check-in and security procedures done smoothly.

Meanwhile, Emirates cancelled many of its flights across the UAE on Thursday. Indian airlines like Vistara, SpiceJet and IndiGo had earlier announced that their services to the UAE will be affected. Nine arriving and four departing flights were cancelled on Thursday.

On April 14 and 15, heavy rain battered regions of the Arabian Peninsula, with Dubai experiencing the heaviest rain on record since 1949. The country is also experiencing rain from May 2. As of now, an orange alert has been issued in the UAE.
Officials have also asked travellers to use Dubai Metro to access Terminals 1 and 3 of DXB. Carriers like Flydubai and Air Arabia have also asked passengers to factor in extra travel time in their journey.
